Hello!
My name is Mirae Dong and I am a 1st year Ph.D. student in the Committee of Microbiology at the University of Chicago. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology in May 2016 from San Diego State University. I have always been interested in biology, but did not know the various careers I could potentially pursue. I entered Dr. Ralph Feuer's research lab in November 2013 and decided to pursue a career in research. Since then, I was selected for the Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) Program and joined the lab of Dr. Kelly Doran. I was also a participant of the University of California, Los Angeles Summer Program for Undergraduate Research in Life and Biomedical Sciences (SPUR-LABS) in the summer of 2015. I worked in the lab of Dr. Jeff F. Miller. I hope to conduct research in the field of infectious disease and successfully obtain my Ph.D. in the future. |
