My name is Mirae Dong. I am a third-year undergraduate student at San Diego State University studying Cellular and Molecular Biology.
I joined Dr. Ralph Feuer's lab in November 2013 to work with the coxsackievirus and their effects on cardiac progenitor cells.
In September 2014, I was appointed as a fellow in the Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) program funded by the National Institutes of Health/National Institute of General Medical Sciences.
After the completion of my undergraduate studies, I plan to enter a doctorate program in microbiology or stem cell biology.
Besides biology and research, I enjoy snorkeling, swimming, hiking, rock climbing/bouldering, learning new languages, and traveling in my free time.
